Quiet lakes and historic landscapes
Lusatia includes on the German side the regions in the south of Brandenburg and east of Saxony as well as Lower Silesia and Lubusz in Poland. Today, the Lusatian Neisse River forms the border between the German and Polish territories. The picturesque landscapes range from the Spree Forest to the Dresden Heath and the Zittau Mountains. The latter is also a designated Lusatian Nature Park, as is the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft and Niederlausitzer Landrücken Nature Park. Hiking and cycling enthusiasts get their money’s worth in the Lusatian Lakeland. Quiet lakes or historic landscapes characterize the region and offer varied tours. One or the other rare animal or plant species can also be discovered here.
