Historic mills

The Molt family has been managing the Flair Landhotel “Strengliner Mühle” for over 250 years. Once built as a water mill, the Mühle has experienced changeable times since 1614.
Today, guests can stay overnight in the spacious area in the main building or in various guest houses and enjoy Holstein Switzerland’s healthy country air in heavenly peace. Everywhere you will find witnesses to the past; especially noticeable is the “Kettenzaun” in front of the main building which an Austrian soldier carved out of the rocks over 150 years ago.
All rooms are cosy and comfortable, some are in a country house style while others are rustic with a thatched roof in the “Alte Scheune” guest house.
Stroll around the mill pond behind the hotel or along the brook; later on, sit on wicker beach chairs on the terraces or the sunbathing lawns and enjoy doing sweet nothing.
In the kitchen, the Molt family attaches great attention to regional produce and making sure that the history of the meals is transparent.
In the Strengliner Mühle, centuries-old traditions are combined with modern ecology to create a relaxed mix with an informal nature.

The dreamy village of Strenglin is your perfect starting point for activities: you can reach the Baltic Sea after about 20 km. In the immediate vicinity you have beautiful lakes and excellent bike paths. A real highlight: within an hour’s drive you will find 15 excellent golf courses, the nearest one is only 4km from the hotel. At Flair Landhotel Strengliner Mühle you will be relaxed, away from the hustle and bustle and can play on a different course every day. Sustainable warmth in the hotel

Owner Henning Molt explains why the family decided to heat heat through wood chip heating: “We want to live in harmony with nature as much as possible. We are aware of our responsibility as hoteliers. That’s why we generate the heat for the hotel itself with wood chip heating. Unlike fossil fuels, wood is a renewable raw material and has the opportunity to extract it regionally. We mostly heat with the wood we get on our own land. Trees and hedges must be maintained regularly – the wood is processed into wood chips and provides warm water in the hotel. What we need beyond that we buy in the region. So we don’t have long ways.”

Furniture from our own production

Superior double room in our hotel of the year, FLAIR- Landhotel & Restaurant Strengliner Mühle in Holsteiner Land. The complete furniture you see in this photo are screamed by the family itself. Of course, oak wood from the region was used. The ambience is authentic and you feel super comfortable in these wonderful rooms with the high-quality floor, the light smell of the wood is incredibly pleasant and the lovely decoration looks homely! Here, rural life runs wonderfully as a common thread through the entire concept of the house. Great, if sustainability still looks chic.

Successful conferences in Strenglin

We have three conference rooms up to 100 m², suitable for events with up to 30 people. The well-lit rooms can be darkened and are in an extremely quiet location. Modern conference technology (flip charts, pin boards, projector etc.) and personal support contribute towards the success of your event.
